Highest sales volume for Dresden equipment manufacturer in company history| High order volume requires new building and additional staff |Social commitment to local community

Dresden, 25.01.2013

In 2012, VON ARDENNE reached the highest sales volume in its company history and closed the financial year 2012 with a sales volume of 260 million Euros. The Dresden-based high-tech company develops, designs and manufactures machines and equipment for the coating of large areas with thin functional layers on materials such as sheet glass, metal strip and plastic web.

“Our customers rely on ever more complex functional thin films in order to make their products more efficient and energy-saving and to develop new applications”, said Robin Schild, VON ARDENNE’s CEO. “Therefore, there is an increasing demand for innovative machines that are able to deposit such layers”. These machines create coatings for products such as architectural glass, smart phone displays and touchscreens, heat protection foils for automotive glass and solar cells.

“Our strength is our experience gained over decades in the vacuum coating of large areas. In this field, we are able to quickly develop and implement new solutions”, explained Schild. “Today, VON ARDENNE is the market leader in providing coatings systems for the manufacturing of architectural glass, which contributes to saving energy thanks to the applied coating.”

After the successful financial year 2012, it looks as if 2013 will bring further growth:
VON ARDENNE is looking for engineers, scientists and further staff for its headquarters in Dresden. All in all, the high-tech company will create 50 jobs in development, assembly and sales. Therefore, apart from the expansion of the production capacities, a state-of-the-art development center will be built in Dresden for future product solutions.

VON ARDENNE is also socially committed in the region of Dresden. For example, the company supports various projects in local schools and kindergartens.

About the Company

VON ARDENNE develops and manufactures machines and equipment, with the help of which nanometer to micrometer thin functional layers are deposited on materials such as glass, metal strip or plastic web. With the coated materials, VON ARDENNE customers manufacture products such as architectural glass, smart phone displays, touchscreens, solar cells and heat protection foils for automotive glass.

At present, VON ARDENNE coating systems are in operation in more than 50 countries around the world. The Dresden high-tech company employs around 650 people, who generated a sales volume of 260 million Euros in 2012.
