100 years ago technical pioneer and inventor Manfred von Ardenne was born. It is on this occasion that we recounted 12 episodes of his life. This 13th episode completes this series.

Honecker and the Baron of Sciences  - this was not supposed to end well. The growing mistrust of the omnipotent ruling party and all the troubles linked had caused a deep health crises with Manfred von Ardenne in the early seventeeth. „I was not able to lead a normal life. Lying on a camp bed in my office my head only worked properly“, he later described his condition in his memories. The medical diagnoses: No organic defects, thus no therapy, however: just two years to live. In the past, von Ardenne had often reflected on the fundamental imprtance of oxygen for the human organism. He assumed „genericized lack of energy“ for himself and started inhaling oxygen from a compressed gas cylinder several times a day. It took a couple of days only for him to regain his old quality of life. From this self-awareness and with his instinct to tackle problems he developed the "Oxygen Multi-step Therapy", today a renowned and widely spread naturopathic treatment all over the world. He himself turned 90.
