Collection of personal information

It is possible to visit our website without providing personal information.

Personal information is collected only insofar as far as it is necessary for technical reasons when using our website or if you want to use certain functions offered on our website.

Please note that the use of certain Services may include mandatory fields, which are labelled accordingly. Mandatory fields must be completed so that we can provide you with the function you require. We only use mandatory information for the purposes for which you have made the information available to us. All other information is voluntary and is used exclusively for the processing of your request, for statistical purposes or to improve our Services.

The web space provider commissioned by VON ARDENNE GmbH collects data each time the Services are accessed (known as server log files). Access details include:

  • the user’s operating system,
  • the referrer’s URL (previously visited page),
  • the IP address and the requesting provider.

The web analytics service Piwik is used on our website. This is open source software that statistically analyses access by website visitors. The analysis is made possible by the use of cookies which gather information regarding your use of our website. This information is stored on a Piwik server in Germany. The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before storage. You have the option of preventing cookies from being stored on your computer. To do so, you must modify the settings on your internet browser accordingly. However, this may mean that you will not be able to use our website to its fullest extent.

Adobe Typekit

We use Adobe Typekit to give our website a visually appealing design. Typekit is a service from Adobe Systems Software Ireland Ltd. (‘Adobe’), which gives us access to the Adobe font library. In order to integrate the fonts we use, your web browser must connect to an Adobe server in the US and download the required font. As a result, Adobe receives the information that our website has retrieved from your device’s IP address.
